About the Person

People ask me what kind of art I create.  I suppose my art is mostly sculptural assemblages, possibly classified as a cross between Folk and DADA.  I’m a late bloomer, first getting inspired in 2015.

An early piece consists of piano parts assembled on the wall in a quasi-cubist fashion (in order to avoid an electrical outlet).

Representative pieces of recent work are “Fossil Fool”, “Choson Moon” and “Trinity Library on Wheels”.

I have degrees in Architecture and Construction Management and I have long appreciated building design and art.  Being self -taught, naïve and having no contact with the art world, I am definitely an Outsider.  Compositional inspiration for new pieces often comes from items found at construction sites, salvage yards and the like.  The inspiration for a theme or meaning comes from current events, 60 years of watching TV, and random thoughts in my brain at 3 AM, while I’m really just trying to sleep.

The joy I find in my art is being able to use tools and applications in different ways, which is essentially about extending brain activity slightly beyond an 8 hour day.
